Issue 4 of the Snippet in 2020 is here!

We are launching Issue 4 of the SSR Snippet in commemoration of the UN International Day for the Eradication of Poverty (IDEP). This issue promises a timely and insightful read.

The first article is an exploration into the definitions and measurement of poverty. It highlights the different forms of poverty and what this would mean in the Singaporean context. The second article examines the notion of poor work and the dire consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic on workers. The article also suggests some ways to address this issue to improve the conditions of those who are doing low-wage work.

The critical perspectives from these articles are relevant as we reflect on the impact of the pandemic on our society.

We hope you will find this issue a thoroughly engaging one!
