SSR Snippet – Issue 1 February 2021
February 15, 2021
Issue 1 of the Snippet in 2021 is here!
We are ushering in the new year with a new issue of the SSR Snippet.
In this issue, we look into two timely articles discussing poverty and inequalities in Singapore.
The first article reports on a recent social service forum on 'Powerty' to discuss and redefine the understanding of poverty and the eradication of poverty in Singapore. The article also raised questions on future directions for the discourse on poverty and its eradication in Singapore.
The second article is taken from a study which focused on the role of information in affecting Singaporeans' views on inequality and related policy preferences. The study raises the potential impact of different sources of information on the generational divide on views about social issues and policy initiatives.
We hope that this issue raises salient questions for our ongoing conversations on poverty and inequalities in Singapore.
