Abstract:
In 2019, Fei Yue Community Service’s Community Based Mental Health Service (CMH) piloted a series of home-based activities that aimed to provide cognitive and sensory stimulations for persons with dementia (PWD), and to promote interactions between caregivers and the PWD. A feasibility study was conducted to assess the programme’s acceptability, demand, implementation, practicality and potential benefits. Data was collected via interviews with eight caregivers, focus group discussions with activity facilitators, and observations of the activities. This joint presentation by researchers and practitioners will introduce the programme, the rationales for conducting a feasibility study and its key findings.
