MARIO SORIANO

Mario Soriano's research interests examine the interactions between human systems and the movement of water and contaminants in the environment. Drawing on methods from hydrology, sustainability science, geography, and applied data science, his research advances interdisciplinary frameworks to probe how anthropogenic activities alter water quantity and quality, and vice versa, how societies are impacted by and adapt to dynamic hydrologic risks. He has experience leading projects on the water-energy nexus, groundwater contamination, environmental justice, sustainable food systems, climate change impact assessment and adaptation, and public environmental communication, as well as collaborative work elucidating public health impacts of contaminants in drinking water.
