WANG YI-CHEN
I am an associate professor in the Department of Geography, National University of Singapore. Within the department, I am a member of the GIS Unit and the Tropical Environmental Change Research Group.
My recent research activities focus on spatial health. In particular, I am interested in studying the relationship between environmental factors and infectious disease risk and distribution. I have examined the landscape determinants of liver fluke infection, a neglected tropical disease of the Mekong Region, in the past few years. My current project investigates the more contagious infectious disease COVID-19 in the urban environment setting, to assess the spatiotemporal vulnerability for COVID-19 in Singapore. I also have a broad interest in studying land use/cover change and its environmental consequences.
