YAN YINGWEI

I am a GIScientist working on volunteered geographic information (VGI)/user-generated content/geo-crowdsourcing/citizen GIScience, and the related spatial big data analytics for disaster and crisis management and computational social science (e.g., digital humanity and human behaviour). I am also interested in pedagogical research pertinent to GIS education.

I completed my PhD in the Department of Geography, National University of Singapore, and my postdoc research in the Institute of Geography, Heidelberg University, Germany. I teach modules in Geographic Information Science (GIS). Except for GIS, I also have experience in Surveying and Mapping. I worked as a land and marine surveying engineer before my Master's study in GIScience in the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
