The Red Stone

The Red Stone is an undergraduate journal of NUS Philosophy founded in August 2020 and organised by members of the NUS Philosophy cohort. It is an undergraduate-level philosophy journal which was started in order to provide a place for NUS philosophers to showcase their best work, while also providing publishing and editorial opportunities for the cohort.

Activities

Publication of Undergraduate Philosophy

The Red Stone aims to publish regular issues for NUS philosophy students to showcase and express their philosophical ideas and work, and gain exposure to them. Recruitment of student reviewers typically begins in Semester 1 of each Academic Year.

Faculty Interviews and Podcast

The Red Stone has conducted regular interviews with faculty members on their work and lives, aimed at people who are interested in what philosophy professors do, and also students who want to know their faculty. Recently, the Red Stone has revamped the series with a new podcast style format. Interviews we have conducted can be viewed on our Youtube page or on the Red Stone's website.

The Singapore Undergraduate Philosophy Conference

The Red Stone also organises the annual Singapore Undergraduate Philosophy Conference (SUPC). SUPC is an annual occasion to anchor and nurture a nationwide philosophy community - a gathering to hear and discuss exceptional, interesting undergraduate work. Recruitment of student reviewers and volunteers for SUPC typically begins in Semester 2 of each Academic Year.
