Issue 2 of the Snippet in 2021 is here!

In this issue, we explore how the COVID-19 pandemic has led to severe loss of income, especially for people who were already earning just enough to make ends meet or not even earning enough to make living dignified and healthy. In relation to this, our current Snippet issue showcases the work of an initiative named ‘Mind the Gap’. As its name suggests, Mind the Gap is a response to meet the dire needs of Singaporeans who faced income loss and fell through the gap of accessing help.

We have documented the processes and learning experiences of three members of the MTG collaboration – Beyond Social Services, AWARE and Cassia Resettlement Team (CRT), and a summary of the MTG initiative by SSR. Reading them will provide fresh insights into the challenges and possibilities of improving service provision to those in financial need in general, and particularly those in emergency situations.
