Proposed Thesis Title: The Jungle Life Of CPM: Social Networks And The Persistence And Decline Of Communist Insurgency During The Second Malayan Emergency

My research interest lies in social history, in particular the lived experiences and cultures of people. I find it especially captivating that being a human can mean so many possibilities and I love exploring these possibilities both in the past and present. The focus of my MA Thesis is about the social networks - both internal and external relationships - of the Malayan Communist Party jungle guerrilla fighters during the Second Emergency and use that perspective to explain the persistence and the later disintegration of the insurgency.

I did my undergraduate degree in NUS called Bachelor of Technology in Computing (Business Analytics) where I learned the fundamentals of coding, software development and later on data analytics tools and methodology. I also did a Diploma in Digital Forensics in Temasek Polytechnic, which focused on retrieving and discovering present/deleted data in technological devices and digital communications. Throughout my academic journey in tech, I somehow find myself getting drawn back into social sciences and history books as a personal and intellectual interest and so I am grateful for the chance to formally study history.

In my spare time, you will see me jogging long distances, listening to rock music and exploring creative ingredient-forward cocktails.
