Hidden Heritage: Minority South Asian Communities in Singapore
Discover the vibrant stories of the Bengali, Gujarati, Hindustani (from the Gangetic Heartland), Tamil Catholic, and Telugu communities through our captivating series. An initiative by the NUS FASS South Asian Studies Programme, this series delves into the everyday lives of these communities, highlighting their unique and shared histories and cultural values. By examining their interactions with other ‘Indian’ and non-‘Indian’ groups in Singapore, we reveal the rich and intricate tapestry within the broader ‘Indian’ ethnic category, showcasing the diverse heritage of the diaspora.
Dive into South Asia like never before with South Asian Studies Programme (SASP) – the only one of its kind in ASEAN! From exploring cultural vibes to uncovering the connections between South Asia and Southeast Asia, this program has it all. Launched in '99, we're all about deep dives into the rich history and vibrant diaspora of South Asia.
