What is Political Science?
The famous philosopher Aristotle once remarked that "politics is the art of living together". Political science explores how political decisions and institutions, within and between states, make this possible. At NUS, we put the spotlight on Asian and Comparative Politics, International Relations, Political Theory, Governance and Public Policy and the Government and Politics of Singapore.
As a student of Political Science, you will be encouraged to pursue your own interests and projects and you will be able to work with internationally prominent researchers and award-winning teachers. Our graduates are always in demand and go on to pursue successful professional careers in many sectors, including the civil service, education, business, finance, law and media.

Largest Cohort of Outstanding Alumni Honoured at NUS Alumni Awards 2021
40 exceptional individuals were recognised at the NUS Alumni Awards 2021, making this the largest cohort of trailblazers honoured in a single year since the awards were introduced in 2005. Organised by the NUS Office of Alumni Relations, this year’s awards was hosted in two ceremonies last week.
Is Change in Singapore Too Fast, Too Furious?
As part of the NUS Students’ Political Association’s (NUSPA) 45th anniversary, the association published “On The Road: A Collection of Essays and Articles From NUSPA Publications”. The book highlights Singapore’s major transformations in its political, societal and economic landscape through 39 essays and interviews from the 1980s till today.
