Graduation Requirements (Cohort 2015 & Earlier)
List of Modules by Subfields
Students should read the modular paper applicable to their specific cohort in conjunction with the respective major requirements.
Pass at least 100MCs of PS or PS recognised modules, which include the following:
- PS1101E
- PS3257
- A minimum of ONE* module from the following (Singapore Politics):
- PS2249 (CP)
- PS2244 (GPP)
- PS3249 (IR)
* The above may be used to fulfil requirement (4)
- A minimum of ONE module from each of the following subfields:
- Comparative Politics (CP)
- International Relations (IR)
- Political Theory (PT)
- Governance and Public Policy (GPP)
- A minimum of 60MCs at level 3000 or higher, with
- a minimum of 40MCs at level-4000 or higher and
- a maximum of 2 level-5000 PS modules (subject to department's approval)
- (Cohort 2014 onwards) A minimum of 80MCs of PS-coded modules (including PS1101E and PS3257)
- (Cohort 2014 onwards) A maximum of 16MCs may be double-counted from the secondary major towards the PS Major
Pass at least 60MCs of PS or PS-recognised modules which include the following:
- PS1101E
- PS3257
- A minimum of ONE* module from the following (Singapore Politics):
- PS2249 (CP)
- PS2244 (GPP)
- PS3249 (IR)
* The above may be used to fulfil requirement (4)
- A minimum of ONE from each of the following subfields:
- Comparative Politics (CP)
- International Relations (IR)
- Political Theory (PT)
- Governance and Public Policy (GPP)
- A minimum of 20MCs at level-3000 or higher**
** Students are allowed to read level-4000 modules subject to departmental approval.
- (Cohort 2014 onwards) A minimum of 40MCs of PS-coded modules (including PS1101E and PS3257)
- (Cohort 2014 onwards) A maximum of 16MCs may be double-counted from the secondary major towards the PS Major
Pass at least 48MCs of PS or PS-recognised modules which include the following:

- A minimum of ONE* module from the following (Singapore Politics):
- PS2249 (CP)
- PS2244 (GPP)
- PS3249 (IR)
* The above may be used to fulfil requirement (4)
- A minimum of ONE module from each of the following subfields:
- Comparative Politics (CP)
- International Relations (IR)
- Political Theory (PT)
- Governance and Public Policy (GPP)
- A minimum of 16MCs at level-3000 or higher**
** Students are allowed to read level-4000 modules subject to departmental approval.
- (Cohort 2014 onwards) A minimum of 30MCs of PS-coded modules (including PS1101E and PS3257)
- (Cohort 2014 onwards) A maximum of 16MCs may be double-counted from the secondary major towards the PS Major
- (Cohort 2014 onwards) A minimum of 60% of the total MCs (or 28 MCs of graded modules) must be earned from modules read in NUS.

Increase in Double-Counting Limit for Cohort 2014 onwards
Pass at least 24MCs of PS or PS-recognised modules which include the following:

- PS1101E / GEK1003
- A minimum of ONE* module from the following (Singapore Politics):
- PS2249/GEK2003/SSA2209 (CP)
- PS2244/SSA2222 (GPP)
- PS3249/SSA3205 (IR)
* The above may be used to fulfil requirement (3)
GEK and SSA modules will only be offered to students from up till cohort 2014.
- A minimum of ONE module from each of the following subfields:
- Comparative Politics (CP)
- International Relations (IR)
- Political Theory (PT)
- Governance and Public Policy (GPP)
- A minimum of 8MCs of PS modules at level-3000 (including modules listed above).
- A minimum 16 MCs of the total MCs (graded modules) must be earned from modules read in NUS
** A maximum of 8 MCs from the minor can be used to satisfy the requirements of a major or another minor.
** Double-counting only applies where PS minor modules are officially recognised by the other major or minor.
