The Shades of Love (Film Screening + Q&A)
Gender and Sexuality Research Cluster Presents
The Shades of Love film screening + director's Q&A
Filmed during the events of COVID-19, The Shades of Love (2020) is a 14-minute short film that presents glimpses into the lives and livelihoods of three female-identifying sex workers in Singapore. The film's uses of disembodied audio recordings and images of the Singaporean everyday results in strangely familiar yet anonymous portraits of womanhood, intimacy, and kinship.
Join us for an online screening of The Shades of Love, followed by a Q&A with director Jessica Lee. The event will be moderated by Phoebe Pua.
