BUILDING COMMUNITY THROUGH POETRY AND PSYCHOLOGY | Ms Stephanie Peck, a Psychology major with minors in English Literature and Southeast Asian Studies, found purpose by blending creative writing and mental health advocacy. She launched a poetry reading and writing group, facilitated sessions that empowered others, and completed a teaching internship abroad where she taught English and creative writing. Her journey highlights the power of empathy, cross-cultural understanding, and storytelling in education and community engagement.
DRIVING GREEN INNOVATION | Mr Chew Chi Ying, a Political Science major, co-founded an urban farming start-up aimed at making sustainable agriculture accessible in the city. Working alongside a diverse team, he helped develop modular hydroponic systems and smart irrigation solutions to address food insecurity and promote local production. Adapting the product design through user feedback, he played a key role in delivering innovative solutions for homes, schools, and offices, contributing to Singapore’s push towards sustainability.
CROSS-CULTURAL FLUENCY IN BUSINESS | Mr Rhys Thiagarajan, a Japanese Studies graduate, immersed himself in Japanese culture and business practices through multiple exchange programmes and an internship supporting Southeast Asia–Japan business collaboration. These experiences broadened his worldview and built his confidence to enter the finance industry. Today, he manages client portfolios and cross-border operations at a global financial services firm, drawing on his language skills and adaptability to thrive in a multicultural environment.
GROWTH THROUGH ADAPTABILITY AND COLLABORATION | Ms Farah Firzanah Binte Rahman, an Economics major, interned in corporate affairs at a multinational company, taking on diverse projects and navigating a fast-paced, multicultural workplace. She quickly learned new processes, engaged with regional teams, and coordinated events. From emceeing company celebrations to supporting patient advocacy initiatives, her experience strengthened her adaptability, collaborative mindset, and comfort in handling unfamiliar challenges.
