EXHIBITION | Singapore’s Agricultural Heritage: Past to Present

Discover a lesser-known chapter of Singapore’s story through Singapore’s Agricultural Heritage: Past to Present, an exhibition exploring the role agriculture has played in shaping the nation and its development.
From Singapore’s farming past to the policies and changing priorities that have shaped its agricultural landscape, the exhibition invites visitors to consider how the relationship between land, food and agriculture has evolved over time — and why this history remains relevant to conversations about Singapore’s future.
The exhibition draws on research into Singapore’s agricultural heritage and brings together key materials and perspectives that illuminate this often-overlooked dimension of the nation’s history.
Presented in conjunction with the exhibition, a fireside chat – scheduled for 13 October 2026 – featuring Dr Vani Swarupa Murali (NUS South Asian Studies Programme) and Mr Malminderjit Singh (strategic communications firm Terra Corporate Affairs) will delve further into the ideas and foundational works behind the project. The speakers will discuss why reflecting on Singapore’s agricultural heritage matters today and share insights into selected pieces featured in the exhibition.
