LIU XIAOFENG

Postdoctoral Fellow

Dr Xiaofeng Liu is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Geography, National University of Singapore. She holds a PhD degree from the University of Hong Kong, and master’s and bachelor’s degree from Beijing Normal University. She is currently working on the project “Peopling Infrastructure: Aeromobilities, Automation and Labour Mobilisations in Asia.”

She has done research on geopolitics, infrastructure, the Belt and Road Initiative, borders, and environmental politics and governance. Employing fieldwork, interviews, and qualitative analysis, she explores intricate relations between state and non-state actors involved in China’s international pursuits in infrastructure and other fields. Her research contributes to the understanding of the processes and consequences of a rising and globalizing China.
