Research Title: Modelling Reef Island Dynamics and Future Trajectories of Change
Research Group: Tropical Environmental Change (TEC)
Thesis Advisor: Prof Paul Kench
Maumoon is a Coastal Engineer pursuing doctoral studies in the Tropical Environmental Change group at NUS Geography. He holds a master's degree in water and sustainable development, specializing in water hazards, risks, and climate. His research focuses on understanding the dynamics of sediment transport and its role in shaping the planform response of reef islands. By leveraging a mix of fieldwork and numerical modeling, Maumoon aims to fill significant gaps in current research on reef island environments, and to project future trajectories of reef island change.
