Research Title: The Climate Resilience and Threshold of Trees in Singapore
Research Group: Tropical Environmental Change (TEC)
Thesis Advisor: Dr Remi Luo
I am a PhD student researching the climate resilience and thresholds of trees in Singapore. My research focuses on understanding how the trees in Singapore respond to climate stressors such as heatwaves, droughts, and extreme rainfall. By assessing the resilience of these trees, I aim to contribute to strategies for enhancing the sustainability of Singapore’s green spaces in the face of climate change.
Leveraging on tools such as remote sensing, GIS, and environmental data analysis, my work involves monitoring tree health and their ability to adapt to climate perturbations. This research supports efforts to design urban landscapes that can withstand climate challenges while maintaining biodiversity and providing ecosystem services like cooling and carbon sequestration.
