For PhD Candidates

President's Graduate Fellowship - NUS Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences
The President's Graduate Fellowship (PGF) is awarded to candidates who show exceptional promise or accomplishment in research. A number of PhD research students are selected each semester by the University for the award.

Harvard-Yenching Institute (HYI)-NUS Joint Scholarship Programme - NUS Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences
The Harvard-Yenching Institute (HYI) and the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (NUS) invite applications for the HYI-NUS Joint Scholarship Programme. Successful applicants will be registered as PhD students at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, NUS. The first 38 months will be spent at NUS (financed by NUS) while the remaining 10 months will be spent at Harvard University (financed by HYI).

Dean’s PhD Fellowship
This new and prestigious Fellowship will provide the best incoming FASS PhD candidates with an additional year of funding. Up to three Fellowships of S$45,000 each will be awarded to the most promising candidates for the August intake. The Fellowship is to defray living expenses and fees in the final year of the recipient’s studies, after the NUS scholarship expires.

For Masters and PhD Candidates

NUS Research Scholarships - NUS Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences
The University offers Research Scholarships to outstanding PhD and Master's (Singapore Citizens/Permanent Residents only) candidates to pursue a full-time graduate research degree at NUS. A limited number of scholarships is available each academic year. They are therefore awarded on a very competitive basis.

Commonwealth Scholarship
The Commonwealth Scholarship (“Scholarship”) is awarded to outstanding graduate students from Commonwealth countries for research leading to a higher degree at the University. This Scholarship is for new, incoming students who are not Singapore citizens or permanent residents. The Scholarship consists of a monthly stipend plus a tuition fee subsidy. A number of students are selected each semester by the University for the award.
