Intern Services

As an in-house training clinic for the NUS Master of Clinical Psychology programme, a large portion of our psychological services (therapy & assessments) are conducted by our interns during their 6 month placement for a wide variety of clients.

Appointment Booking

Please read the following before you register:

All services are strictly by appointment only, and we cannot accept walk-ins.
Parental consent is required for individuals who are below the age of 18.
Kindly note that we reserve the right not to accept everyone.

Prices stated are inclusive of 9% GST.
Payment can be made via CHPC Online Payment Portal.
* Assessment package is inclusive of a 1 hour feedback session and 2 paper hardcopies of the report

Registration Process

Intern Services: Here is the how your journey at CHPC will be like:

Step 1: Register Online

Adults (18 years & above)

Child/Teen (below 18 years)

Are you currently an NUS student? Please obtain a referral letter from the University Health Centre (UHC) or University Counselling Services (UHC) before registering! Click/tap here for more information on the referral process.

Step 2: Triage Call

An intern will reach out for a 15–20 min call to better understand your current situation, concerns and needs.

If you miss our calls, our intern will proceed to contact you over WhatsApp or email.

Step 3: Screening by Clinic Manager

Our clinic manager will review your case to ensure that CHPC is the best fit for you. There are 2 outcomes:

Accepted: an assigned intern will contact you on the successful outcome.

Referred: you will receive an email with a list of providers who are better equipped for your needs.

Step 4: First Appointment Booking

The assigned intern will contact you via email, phone call or WhatsApp to set up your first appointment and answer any questions that you may have.

You will also be advised to also bring any reports or documents (e.g., referrals, visits to other psychologists/psychiatrists) that would be relevant for your appointment.

Step 5: Confirmation & Payment

The assigned intern will send you an email with the following information:

Case Number (Txxxxx)
First appointment Registration Link (with consent forms to complete)
CHPC Survey Link (to complete)
CHPC Online Payment Link (to make payment)

Step 6: Turn Up!

Please arrive at CHPC for your sessions at least 5 minutes before it starts.

If you wish to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please notify us 24-hours in advance.

Note: Intern Placements & Availability

CHPC has 2 intern placement cycles every year from January to June and July to December. Kindly note that we have a fixed number of interns available to assign to clients every cycle.

If all available intern slots have been filled for the current cycle, CHPC will put your registration on a waitlist for the next placement cycle. An available intern will contact you in 2 weeks, up to a month’s time after the new placement cycle starts.

Referrals

General Referrals

All clients are seen by appointment only and may be referred by the local hospital, polyclinic or social agency. For such institutions, please click on the respective referral form below to refer a client to be seen by a CHPC intern psychologist.

*Kindly note for clients below 18 years of age, parental consent is required.

Current NUS Students

You are required to provide us with a referral letter and/or form from either University Health Centre (UHC) or University Counselling Services (UCS) before registering with our clinic.

For NUS Staff

We encourage all NUS staff to first schedule an appointment with the NUS Health & Wellbeing Team which supports the mental wellbeing of the general NUS staff population.

NUS staff includes part-time and full-time Academic, Research and Executive and Administrative staff.

Clinical Team

All CHPC interns work under the close supervision of experienced master/doctoral level clinical psychologists. To know more about our clinical supervisors, the links below will direct you to our supervisors' profile.

Singapore law requires a disclosure that a psychology qualification is not a medical or dental qualification.

CHPC Interns

Our interns are graduate students enrolled in the NUS Master of Psychology (Clinical) programme.

They are on 6-month placements at CHPC from January to June, and from July to December. Interns typically work 2.5 days per week at CHPC.

During their time at CHPC, every intern will be under the close supervision of qualified and experienced Clinical Psychologists who help them develop core competencies in assessment, formulation, intervention, and other core skills necessary for their graduation.
