Mariam is a Chartered Psychologist and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society and has more than 25 years’ experience providing professional advice and consultancy to educational institutions, social service organisations and families in Singapore. She is currently the Principal Educational Psychologist in the Ministry of Education, where she leads several national initiatives for students with special educational needs. Mariam is actively involved in several social service organisations in Singapore, and is currently a board member of the National Council of Social Services. She is a Research Associate with the University College London (UCL), and currently leads several research projects in the Ministry, in collaboration with researchers from NTU and UCL.
