Pearlene has obtained her professional license as a Clinical Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) in the United Kingdom and is a Registered Psychologist in both Singapore and the United Kingdom with the Singapore Psychological Society (SPS) and the British Psychological Society respectively.

As a Senior Clinical Psychologist and Head of Department for Viriya Psychological Services at Viriya Community Services, she leads a team of Psychologists to provide psychological assessments and interventions to clients with mental health difficulties in the community. She is particularly interested in mood, anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), increasing accessibility to evidence-based psychological interventions within the community. She is also a trainer and speaker on mental health issues and has developed many training workshops for the community. She is passionate in the promotion of good mental health through upstream preventive work in the community.
