I'm Hui Shan, a Political Science graduate from the Class of 2021, and a Tembusu College alumna. I am currently a Management Associate (MA) at Enterprise Singapore (ESG), an agency under the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) that champions the growth of our local enterprises.

Through the FASS Internship Programme and CFG initiatives, I have acquired industry knowledge and insights about the workplace to facilitate my career planning. The career coaching and workshops also helped me to understand available career options, and learn about the skills needed to excel at work, such as personal branding.

As a Political Science major, I did my internship in MTI's North America and Europe Division, which influenced my current career choice. As I resonated strongly with their mission, I was eager to continue serving in a similar capacity. I was thus attracted to ESG's MA Programme, which allowed me to gain exposure to a wide range of roles.

University is a safe space for you to explore different interests, so make full use of the available resources. While academics are important, remember to seize extra-curricular opportunities, which will help you grow into a well-rounded person, well-placed for any career that you choose.
