FASS GSRC | Research Workshop on Gender, Youth and Media in Asia

RESEARCH WORKSHOP ON GENDER, YOUTH AND MEDIA IN ASIA
The Research Workshop on Gender, Youth and Media in Asia spans over 3 days in February 2024. The conference features prominent international speakers representing a variety of approaches to the study of gender (and sexuality) concerning youth and media topics. It provides a forum for academic exchange between NUS researchers and international scholars, and enhances the reputation of NUS as a global centre for gender and sexuality research with a special focus on Asian contexts.

APPROACH
The workshop focuses on interdisciplinary approaches to gender and sexuality research, and features papers from scholars whose work connects to disciplines such as geography, linguistics, anthropology, communications, and media studies. In particular, the workshop will highlight research within three key streams (Media and Discourse, Youth and Society, and Borders and Boundaries), and explore how these streams might intersect.
