There are two ways to enter the programme:

Apply for direct entry at the point of admission—

Students may indicate their desire to directly enter the programme when applying to NUS (applicable for Cohort 2019 onwards) by selecting “ARTS (PHILOSOPHY, POLITICS, AND ECONOMICS)” on the NUS Admissions Portal. Applicants will be selected on the basis of their 'A' level/IB/High School qualifications, and application essay. Please submit the application essay at the PPE Direct Admissions Portal linked from the front page. Applicants must indicate their intended Specialisation discipline (Philosophy, Political Science, or Economics); they may apply for a change of Specialisation at a later point in time.

Students who are accepted into the PPE programme at the point of admission may still switch to another FASS major at a later date if they so desire. Applicants to the PPE programme who did not also select “FACULTY OF ARTS AND SOCIAL SCIENCES” on the Admissions Portal will not have applied for entry to FASS, if the application to PPE was unsuccessful. Students who have already been accepted into FASS from a previous year’s admission exercise will need to reapply to NUS for them to be considered for direct entry into the PPE programme. The Admissions Portal will give you the option to retain the earlier offer in case the new application is unsuccessful (please contact the Office of Admissions in case you need any help).

Apply to enter from the end of your second semester onwards—

Students may also apply to enter the program after their first year of study in NUS FASS (applicable for Cohort 2018 onwards) using the PPE Major Enrolment Portal linked from the front page. They will need to attain a CAP of at least 4.0 with at least 28MCs graded (non-S/U) modules, and score at least an average of A- (with no grade lower than a B+) for the exposure modules of Philosophy (GET1029), Political Science (PS1101E), and Economics (EC1101E). If the S/U option has been exercised on the exposure modules, the original grades will be taken into consideration. Students will need to indicate their intended Specialisation discipline (Philosophy, Political Science, or Economics); they may apply for a change of Specialisation at a later point in time. Students who are very close to meeting requirements and would like to appeal to get in may also do so via the Enrolment Portal.
