FASS Student Ambassador Programme
The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) Student Ambassadors are a cadre of outstanding and unique individuals. They exemplify and represent the student community at various public profile events such as Orientation, Open House, outreach activities. By relating and sharing their experiences, they engage various stakeholders including prospective students and their parents, in addition to academic and industry leaders. This programme enables ambassadors to develop and hone industry-relevant skills, boost their confidence and grooms them for the professional world.

Double Degree Programme: Law and Economics
Michael is a work-hard play-hard type of guy with a keen interest in serving the community and learning. He is a DDP student studying Law and Economics, with a passion for teaching, sports, and food. He's excited to be another one of the many friendly faces on campus!

Major: Southeast Asian Studies, Minor: History
Bryan is a second-year student pursuing a major in Southeast Asian Studies with a minor in History. Bryan enjoys travelling and photography, and is also an avid football and Formula 1 fan. As a student ambassador, Bryan looks forward to meeting and interacting with people from different walks of life.

Colin is a second-year Economics major with a minor in Data Analytics. Beyond the classroom, he has a passion for travelling, exploring new ideas, and actively engaging in community service. Always eager to learn and grow, Colin embraces opportunities that broaden his perspectives and allow him to make a meaningful impact both locally and globally.

As a final-year undergraduate, Cyion is an enthusiastic individual with a passion for serving the FASS community and connecting students of all FASS majors. As a FASS Student Ambassador, Cyion embraces the opportunity to represent her faculty, bridging the gap between students and a university experience they can call their own. Through exemplifying leadership, inclusivity, and a deep commitment to fostering a welcoming environment, Cyion hopes to inspire others to explore their passions and seize opportunities for growth, both within the faculty and beyond.

Major: Economics
Siddhika is a junior reading Economics along with the honors programme at NUS College. She had previously worked in the finance sector, and currently working towards a specialisation in Financial and Monetary Economics and looking forward to working in the banking sector in the future! Siddhika loves meeting new people and exploring diverse experiences and would love to take that forward as a FASS student ambassador..

Major: Political Science, Minor: Southeast Asian Studies
Irdina Duran is a Year 2 Political Science major with a minor in Southeast Asian Studies at NUS, currently serving as President of the Political Science Society (PSSOC). Her academic interests lie in Singaporean and Malaysian politics. With a diploma in Communications, Irdina brings versatility to the table merging her love for writing, branding, and strategic marketing with her political pursuits. Outside the classroom, she is a committed community volunteer, driven by a deep passion for cultural heritage, youth empowerment, and meaningful engagement with people. When she’s not deep in thought about politics or people, you’ll likely find her tuning into a podcast, enjoying a scenic walk, or discovering her next favourite café.

Master's Programme: Economics
Andrianus Habib Furqony is a master’s student in Economics with experience in market analysis and product development for companies like Philip Morris International, Nutrifood Indonesia and Lifepal. As a FASS Student Ambassador, he is passionate about connecting with peers and creating a supportive learning environment. Andrianus is driven by his interest in applying economics to real-world challenges and contributing to positive social impact.

Majors: Political Science and Southeast Asian Studies
Priscilla is a passionate student pursuing a double major in Political Science and Southeast Asian Studies. With a keen interest in local and regional politics, she is focused on understanding the history and politics of Southeast Asia Currently learning Thai, Priscilla believes that language is an essential tool for building deeper connections with the region and its diverse communities. Beyond academics, she actively participates in both NUS-wide and FASS-specific CCAs, which have allowed her to foster a strong sense of community. As a FASS Ambassador, Priscilla is thrilled to have the opportunity to represent the faculty and engage with people from all walks of life. She is committed to sharing the vibrancy and inclusivity of FASS while continuing to grow from her experiences.

DANIEL LIM
Major: Social Work
Daniel Lim is a distinguished sophomore pursuing a Bachelor of Social Sciences (Hons) in Social Work at the National University of Singapore (NUS). He graduated with Merit from Republic Polytechnic with a Diploma in Business and Social Enterprise, earning the prestigious Board of Governors Award as the Most Outstanding Graduate of the Year.
Currently serving as President of The Society of Social Work Students (SSWS) at NUS, Daniel demonstrates exemplary leadership, effective group facilitation, and a commitment to people development. His dedication to service extends beyond academia, as he serves as a Senior Officer and Platoon Commander in the Singapore Civil Defense Force (SCDF) as an NSmen. Among his accolades are the NSF of the Year Award and Service Excellence Awards, reflecting his commitment to excellence and public service.
An all-rounded individual, Daniel enjoys bouldering, aquatics, and music, reflecting his vibrant personality and dedication to personal growth. He also serves as a FASS (Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences) Student Ambassador, where his leadership and diverse experiences enable him to inspire prospective students and effectively represent the values of NUS and FASS.

Data Science and Economics Cross-Disciplinary Programme (DSE-XDP)
Shi Ying is an enthusiastic and curious learner pursuing Data Science and Economics at NUS. As a Student Ambassador for the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, she represents her peers with integrity, open-mindedness, and a commitment to fostering meaningful connections. Shi Ying is passionate about exploring economics, data analytics and fintech, with a drive to learn and grow. She values collaboration and strives to contribute actively to the communities and organizations she is part of. Beyond academics, she enjoys floorball, traveling, and cooking, reflecting her vibrant and approachable personality.

Yi Xian is a Year 2 Political Science and History major who is currently serving in the NUS Political Science Society as a Special Projects Executive. He is excited to be a part of the 2025 FASS Student Ambassadors Corps, and is deeply grateful to FASS for this valuable opportunity to engage the broader NUS community. Besides international relations and political history, he is passionate in all things football, and hopes to write a thesis that combines these academic interests in the future. When not busy with schoolwork, he likes to unwind with a run, a game, a book, or anything in between.

Janelle is a fourth-year Psychology major with a minor in English Literature, driven by her passion for clinical psychology. Janelle is eager to serve as a guiding voice for students navigating the challenges of university life.

Majors: Economics and Quantitative Finance
Soumil is a Year 2 Economics student, also majoring in Quantitative Finance. A passionate foodie, he enjoys indulging in almost every type of cuisine. To stay active and burn off the calories, he spends much of his free time playing tennis or pickleball. He is enthusiastic about serving the FASS community and is eager to connect with like-minded individuals throughout this journey. With a genuine love for meeting new people, he aims to utilise this passion to build meaningful connections with juniors and prospective students during outreach events.

Major: Economics
Anandita is a Year 3 Economics major, passionate about understanding the intersection of public policy, social impact, and behavioural innovation. Her journey in academia has been shaped by a deep passion for research and teaching, as she believes both have the power to inspire meaningful change. As a member of the NUS Impact Society, she loves being actively involved in initiatives that aim to create positive social and environmental transformations. She enjoys writing as a medium to convey complex ideas creatively. She’s obsessed with everything matcha and loves exploring the city though her ideal downtime is spending time with her dog, Bruno.

JADE OW
Major: Theatre and Performance Studies, Minor: Chinese Translation
Jade entered the College of Humanities and Sciences at the National University of Singapore as a Theatre Studies major, with a minor in Chinese Translation. Jade is one of Singapore's few working deaf actresses, and continues her professional actor training under the tutelage of industry veterans Peter Sau and Verena Tay. Credits include Through The Looking Glass, a multidisciplinary arts installation performance at the National Gallery Singapore by actress-artist Claire Teo, The T.R.U.E. Awards devised in residency at Centre 42, and a UK-Singapore virtual theatre collaboration titled Quality Of Life Is Not A Measurable Outcome, where she shared a scene with critically-acclaimed UK actor and founder of CRIPtic Arts, Jamie Hale.
Outside of the theatre, Jade's bilingual proficiency as well as her interest in Chinese culture led to gigs in ghostwriting, performing arts criticism, and translation between both English and Mandarin. She currently specializes in crafting Chinese names for clients around the world. As a member of the Deaf community, Jade is also the first deaf person to emcee at the annual Purple Parade in October 2024. Aside from her career and academic aspirations, Jade is also an active participant in university extracurriculars. Jade is currently training in sword (剑术) with the NUS Wushu Varsity Team, and she is also an active member of NUS Enablers where she advocates for proper representation and access for persons with disabilities. She is excited to join the 2025 FASS Ambassadors, and to continue serving the student community.

MARCUS TANG
Majors: Theatre & Performance Studies, and English Literature
Marcus is a year 2 student majoring in Theatre & Performance Studies and English Literature. A passionate lover of the arts, Marcus enjoys everything from diving into mystery novels and binge-watching TV shows to catching a play. With a diploma in Creative Writing for TV and New Media, he has continued to explore his love for creativity in university. As the Drama Head and Production Manager for Eusoff Hall, Marcus shares his enthusiasm for the arts with his hallmates through various productions and plays. In his free time, he runs Dungeons & Dragons campaigns, plays obscure board games, or journals (with a collection of stationery that’s ever-growing). Marcus believes the arts have a unique power to connect people and is thrilled to be part of the FASS Student Ambassador program, where he can share his love for the arts with a broader audience.

Jaslyn is a fourth-year undergraduate majoring in Global Studies with a second major in Communications and New Media. She has thoroughly enjoyed her FASS journey so far - exploring multiple disciplines, leading Global Studies Club and participating in activities like IFG. She is excited to share her stories of learning, growth and unforgettable adventures with future FASS students!

Major: Social Work, Minor: Community Development & Leadership
Chermaine Yew is a Year 3 Social Work undergraduate with a Minor in Community Development & Leadership. Over the past three years, she has been actively involved in NUS Student Life through various CCAs. Notably, Chermaine served as the President of the Society of Social Work Students (SSWS) in AY2023/2024 and continues to serve and build this community she holds dearly.
Chermaine enjoys meeting people from different faculties and building meaningful connections that inspire and uplift others. As a FASS Student Ambassador, she is excited to represent the vibrant FASS community, share her journey, and encourage others to explore all that FASS has to offer. ZHANG MING
Majors: Global Studies and Japanese Studies
Zhang Ming is a Year 4 Global Studies student with a second major in Japanese Studies. Having studied Japanese language since secondary school and picked up basic Malay and Cantonese, she prides herself with being able to communicate across cultures and maintain an open mind. In the Global Studies Programme, she specialises in Colonialism, Security and Global Order, with a particular interest in East Asian geopolitics. She also keeps her passion for all things Japanese alive by taking part in Japanese Studies Society (JSS) activities and researching on Japanese society, politics and culture. When she is not busy with her academic pursuits, she enjoys playing the piano (she is also an active member of NUS Piano Ensemble!) and heading out with her camera or bicycle.
