Due to an overwhelming response, our air-conditioned accommodations are fully booked. We only have rooms without air conditioning for students who apply from 20 March onwards. These rooms are equipped with fans for your comfort.

(this letter should state that you are a current student registered at another university and your student status needs to be valid at least until end of FASStrack period)

Courses & Credits

Courses for FASStrack Asia 2024

All courses are taught on-site (no online option) and conducted in English.
Courses are graded based on 100% Continuous Assessment (CA) without final examination.
Each course is worth 4 units, which is equivalent to a 3-credit hour course under the North American credit system or 6 ECTS under the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System. Please contact your home university for credit recognition of NUS courses.
All courses will have 3-hours seminars from Tuesday – Friday during the 3-weeks programme. Hence, each course has a total of 36 contact hours.
Classes will be held either in the AM or PM session. Local field trips may be held during class hours.
NUS and local students can read up to 2 courses, one from each session.
For NUS students, FAS-coded courses can only fulfil Unrestricted Electives (UE).
International students can only read 1 course.
FASStrack reserves the right to cancel the course if there is insufficient enrolment to start the class.

On-campus stay is optional, but recommended as part of the summer school experience. Please refer to the table below for accommodation fees.

(i) Non-Exchange (Fee-Paying)

If you are coming under a non-exchange arrangement, the tuition fees of S$3,489 per course will apply, together with all other costs.

For international students, please note that the above costs do not include return airfare and personal expenses.

(ii) Exchange (By Invitation Only)

For selected international students who are nominated by their home university under an exchange arrangement with NUS, the tuition fee will be waived. All other costs will still apply.

Summary of Costs

Students can check in from 2pm on 27 June 2024 and must check out by 12pm on 20 July 2024. There will be a Welcome Lunch and Registration Session on 28 June 2024. Social activities will also be organized during the summer school, such as local tours in Singapore on Monday/Saturday, and a Farewell Dinner on 19 July 2024.

ANSWERS

1. How long does it take to process my online application?

You will receive an email with your offer around end-March to mid-April 2024. You are required to reply to that email to confirm your place in the choice of course(s) you have selected.

2. Are there any scholarships or financial assistance for NUS students and international students who are interested in FASStrack?

There are no scholarships or financial assistance offered for both NUS and international students at the moment. International students may check with their home universities if there are any scholarships or grants they may apply to for summer school programmes.

3. I have participated in previous FASStrack programmes. Can I still enrol for the programme?

Yes, as long as you are reading different courses from those you have read previously.

4. I'm an international student. Do I need to apply for student visa or tourist visa on my own?

Kindly note that no Student Pass will be applied for international students.

It is the student's responsibility to check if he/she requires a visa to enter Singapore. You may check if you require an Entry Visa to Singapore on ICA's website.

5. Can I switch courses after application?

Change of course is on a case-to-case basis, subject to availability before FASStrack starts. Please email your request to studyabroadfass@nus.edu.sg.

6. Can I transfer units to my home university?

For NUS students, units and grades for the courses read during FASStrack Summer School will be counted towards your graduation requirements and Grade Point Average (GPA).

For international students, please kindly check the credit/unit transfer process with your respective home university.

Results are usually released in mid-August and all students can check their results on Edurec. International students will receive their official electronic transcript in September via their personal email address as recorded in Edurec. Hardcopy of transcript is also available upon application and charges will apply.

7. Is the on-campus accommodation compulsory?

No, the on-campus accommodation is optional for NUS and international students. For international students, it is optional if you are able to find your own accommodation in Singapore for the entire 3-weeks programme.

8. Does the accommodation cost include meal plan?

No, meal plan is not available during school vacation and summer school programmes. There are several dining options in UTown and around NUS for students to choose from.

9. My family and friends are visiting me in Singapore. Can they stay in my hostel room at NUS?

Due to space constraint and security reasons, no sharing of rooms are allowed.
