The FASS Mentorship Programme at the FASS Dean’s Office is pleased to share that the FASS Mentorship Series "Navigating Life and Career Success Abroad," which was held on 19th September 2024 at the Central Library was a great success. During this event, students had the opportunity to gain valuable insights into work ethics and the practicalities of life in a foreign country.

The event featured three FASS alumni mentors — Chilin Tang, Xu Zi, and Sean Bai—who generously shared their personal experiences and emphasized the importance of maintaining an open mindset when encountering different cultures. Their stories highlighted the unpredictable nature of life and underscored the significance of adaptability and courage in seizing opportunities.

Refuelling One’s Passion for Aviation

Samuel Tan

I am Samuel, a Year 4 Economics Undergraduate from the 2019/20 Batch of Mentorship Program and Capstone Project. Having a keen passion in the Aviation industry, I was paired up with my mentor who had years of experience and is currently working with our national carrier. Although my mentor came from a different specialisation and training, we bonded quickly due to our common interest and passion for the industry. As a FASS alumni himself, we had many fruitful discussions that highlighted the strengths and merits that sets us apart from the other faculties.
