  • The NUS Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences strategic communications team wins its fifth accolade at Asia Pacific Industry Awards.

At the 2024 Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA) Asia Pacific Awards, the NUS Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences strategic communications team was recognised with a double win.

The international jury presented the Best In-House Team Award in recognition of private sector, not for profit, or public sector teams, for outstanding delivery of PR and communications.

Nisar Keshvani, former Strategic Communications Head of NUS Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences received the award for Best In-House Team on the Faculty's behalf.

Over the past three years, the Strategic Communications team had undertaken several initiatives to effectively position FASS as a leading research institute, such as improving internal communications processes, broadening communication outreach through new digital channels, revamping the issue management approach to focus on speed and transparency of communications, as well as promoting FASS’ new wellness and support structure.

“The PRCA APAC Awards is not merely a celebration of individual accomplishments, but a collective recognition of the dedication, creativity, and innovation that define our profession. Each entry represents countless hours of hard work, strategic vision, and commitment to delivering exceptional results for clients and stakeholders. Winning a PRCA award is a testimony of dedication, hard work and innovation,” said Tara Munis, Head of PRCA Asia Pacific.

PRCA is the world’s largest public relations body, representing 35,000 professionals in 82 countries across regions. Every year, its Asia Pacific chapter recognizes outstanding practitioners and teams across 32 categories for their innovation, quality work, and exceptional campaigns and contributions to the industry at its annual APAC Awards.

Former Senior Associate Director (Head) of Strategic Communications was also awarded the PR and Communications Leader of the Year Award. Awardees are judged on their leadership, initiative, character, performance, and contribution to organisation and industry.

This is the team’s fifth accolade. Since 2021, FASS has won three Institute of Public Relations, Singapore (IPRS) PRISM Awards for outstanding campaign, best in-house team, and outstanding issues management.
