NUS Overseas College (NOC) Programme
Introduction
NUS Overseas College (NOC) programme aims to nurture the entrepreneurial spirit of students. During the programme, students intern in a technology-based start-up company and take up courses part-time in reputable universities.
Eligibility
Students, regardless of major, can apply and required to spend at least one regular semester in NUS upon their return from the programme. Please refer to application details here.
Cohort 2016 to 2020 : FASS students who have completed or are pursuing the year-long NOC programmes are not allowed to read FASS Internship Programme courses. This includes any combination of NOC programmes amounting to a year. Students should therefore consider their options carefully before embarking on their internships. For more information, refer to FASS Internship Programme website.
Academic matters
Courses - previously known as Modules
Units - previously known as MCs
Most students can use the internship and entrepreneurial courses to fulfill their Unrestricted Electives. However, NM students may be able to use some NOC courses to fulfill their major requirements should the NOC courses be considered recognised courses for your cohort. Please refer to your Major requirements for the maximum Units that can be counted using NOC courses.
Students should also take note of the Tuition Fee structure for semesters beyond Normal Candidature. Please note that fees charged during semesters beyond Normal Candidature cannot be paid using CPF scheme.
Communities and Engagement (C&E) Pillar
Forward planning is required. If you intend to go away for NOC in Semester 6, that is, Semester 2 of Year 3, you should consider to enrol in your preferred service-learning course in Semester 3 (which may end in Special Term after Semester 4), or Semester 4 (which ends in Semester 5).
