FACULTY RESEARCH AWARD 2016

The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences inaugurated the annual Faculty Research Award in 2010 to recognise excellent staff achievement and to encourage quality research in the Faculty.The award is open to all FASS faculty members.

There are two categories of awards: the Award for Excellent Researcher and the Award for Promising Researcher. Up to three of each are awarded annually.

The Award for Excellent Researcher is presented to researchers based on the overall impact and strength of their research. The successful researcher has achieved consistent research excellence and/or produced a piece of research work of great impact. She or he should be recognised by the research community as having achieved significant breakthroughs or outstanding accomplishments.

The Award for Promising Researcher is presented to researchers within five years of obtaining their PhD. The successful researcher has produced research that shows potential impact and promise. This research work should have been initiated, or carried out independently, by the nominee.Recognising quality and impact of research, rather than quantity, both awards are given for work done as an NUS faculty member.
